NED Phase 1
The Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District (District) Board of Trustees has authorized District’s staff and engineering firm, Jones Petrie Rafinski (JPR), to commence survey, design engineering, and easement acquisition for the upcoming wastewater collection system project for the Northeast District (NED). This project is commonly being referred to as NED Phase I. It is part of a two phase project that will upgrade existing aging infrastructure, that was constructed almost four decades ago, as well as provide service to additional service area(s) that are within the District’s service boundary.
It is anticipated that the survey, design, permitting, and easement acquisitions will take several months to complete. It is the District’s goal to commence construction of NED Phase I in summer of 2018 with anticipated completion in mid to late 2019. This is large project and the District anticipates it will take 14-16 months of construction to complete.
In the upcoming months, the District’s staff will be contacting property owner(s) affected by the NED Phase I project in regards to easements, etc. JPR’s staff will be on-site collecting various field data necessary to complete the design of the project.
We have included a basic map outlining the NED 1 project area in yellow.
